I am mailing off this Reversible Clergy Stole this morning to a repeat client/pastor in Connecticut that owns several of my modern original Clergy Stoles. Because my custom Clergy Stoles are reversible, this one too will provide double use.  As with this special commissioned Clergy Stole, most clients choose to have each side represent a different season. I also create some Clergy Stoles are commissioned to be green colored on both sides since the Ordinary Times Season is a long one.
Side one for this Stole is orange which is the color for the liturgical season called Season of Creation. It is pieced in an improvisational manner using many batik fabrics.  Season of Creation begins September this year and my client wanted to be ready.  Side two (photo below) is a rainbow of batik fabrics pieced in improvisational style as well. I primarily use batik fabrics since they are so beautiful and artistic. I also prefer using batik fabrics due to their high thread count and durability. Machine quilting with an orange variegated cotton thread adds further texture and interest. This Clergy Stole was commissioned to be 55 inches long draping from the back of the neck (110 total) although my 44 inch from the back of the neck is standard size. I'll share photos of the custom Stole in use when I get them.  Let me know if you you'd like an unique Reversible Clergy Stole for yourself or to give as a gift to the one who feeds your soul.
